THE TANZANIA TOURIST BOARD: Marketing and public relations, as well as serving as the US office of the Tanzania Tourist Board, responsible for re-launching Tanzania tourism promotion in the US in 1998; launched Tanzania Tourism’s first-ever TV Advertising Campaign in the US (2007/2008) on CNN, CNN Headline News, CNN.com and CNN Airport together with a separate CNN Safari Sweepstakes campaign; expanded 2nd year TV Campaign to include WABC TV in addition to a 2nd year (2008/2009) CNN and CNN sweepstakes campaign; initiated first Tanzania Travel Agent Specialist program with Travel Agent University.

Results: Since 1998 launch, more than doubled the number of US tourists to Tanzania; American market now the number one source of tourism for Tanzania worldwide; more than 38,000 CNN sweepstakes entries; more than 1275 graduates of Tanzania Travel Agent Specialists in US.

WORLD TOURISM AWARD AT WORLD TRAVEL MARKET, LONDON: Created the World Tourism Award in 1997 on behalf of Reed Travel Exhibitions, presented annually at World Travel Market, London, and co- sponsored by American Express, Corinthia Hotels, International Herald Tribune, and Reed Travel Exhibitions. The Award was established to “recognize the extraordinary initiatives by individuals, companies, organizations, destinations and attractions for outstanding accomplishment in the travel industry.”

Result: The World Tourism Award gained worldwide recognition and prestige; promoted in the global edition of the International Herald Tribune; honored the work and vision of more than 50 distinguished individuals and organizations.

WORLD TOURISM MARKETING SUMMIT, BEIJING, CHINA: Bradford Group honored with an award by the organizers of the World Tourism Marketing Summit, Oct. 28-30, 2007, Beijing, China for “outstanding marketing support of the Summit.”

H. E. PRESIDENT JAKAYA MRISHO KIKWETE, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA: In September 2006, on behalf of the President of Tanzania, organized the first Tanzania Trade & Investment Forum and Mission for a 52-person delegation of leaders in public and private business, banks, trade and investment companies, and export / import firms at the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), as well as trade & investment activities at Tiffany’s, Macy’s, NASDAQ and Citibank.

Result: New trade and investment agreements for private sector.

AFRICA TRAVEL ASSOCIATION (ATA): Bradford Group served as International Executive Headquarters for 16 years; Bradford executives still retain the positions of Executive Director Emeritus and First Vice President, Board member and chair committees on the international Board of Directors.

Result: Launched Africa Travel Magazine and Website; organized 27 international marketing conferences and ecotourism and cultural symposia on the Continent of Africa, which for some countries, opened up doors for the first time to the American travel industry; partnered with Bermuda to launch the Africa Diaspora Heritage Trail initiative at ATA; expanded the global reach and international profile of the organization; expanded ATA’s African membership as well as generating increased tourism to the Continent.

AMERICAN TOURISM SOCIETY (ATS): Public relations agency for ATS whose mission is “Presenting Tomorrow’s Destinations.”

Result: Extensive press and media coverage for ATS annual conferences held in Budapest, Jordan, Prague, Israel, Croatia, Poland, Egypt, Kosovo; raised ATS profile in the Travel Industry generating new members.

JUST A DROP: Karen Hoffman, President, the Bradford Group, serves as Good Will Ambassador in the US for Just a Drop Charity (the official charity of Reed Travel Exhibitions).

Result: Facilitated tax-free donation status for Just A Drop in the US.

THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR PEACE THROUGH TOURISM (IIPT): Provided marketing and promotional support for the first Global Summit on Peace Through Tourism, Jordan, November 2000, under the auspices of King Abdullah II of Jordan as well as the subsequent global summits in Geneva and Thailand; and four regional conferences in Africa.

Result: Secured American Express as Title Sponsor for the First Global Summit in Jordan as well as other sponsors and extensive media coverage.

HIS MAJESTY KING ABDULLAH II OF JORDAN: Organized first press conference in the US for his majesty at American Express headquarters to promote the first Global Summit on Peace through Tourism, New York, May 2000.

Result: Major publicity for the First IIPT Global Summit in Amman Nov. 2000 and for American Express as title sponsor.

WORLD TRADE UNIVERSITY (WTU) GLOBAL SECRETARIAT: Bradford is responsible for the marketing and public relations for various World Summits organized by WTU Global Secretariat: The First World Summit on Tourism Marketing in Nanjing, China, Nov. 2004; the 10th Global Summit of Young Entrepreneurs, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, March 2006; second World Tourism Marketing Summit, Beijing, China, October 2007 organized by the World Trade University in partnership with the UN World Tourism Organization as well as the MIGA Investment Fund and World Bank; and World Tourism Investment Summit Oct. 2008, Busan, Korea.

Result: Secured sponsorships, speakers and major press coverage of the Summits around the world.

NEW YORK UNIVERSITY (NYU) TISCH SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY, SPORTS & TOURISM: Bradford Group’s close working relationship with the faculty of the school has resulted in special programs and opportunities for its clients.

Results: Arranged for NYU internship program with Corinthia Hotels resulting in NYU student interns spending the summers at Corinthia Hotels in Prague, Budapest and Malta in NYU’s Tisch School of Hospitality, Sports & Tourism first formal overseas internship program; secured a Fulbright Scholarship for NYU Professor to travel to Tanzania for two consecutive years to teach and provide advice and counsel to the tourism colleges and training programs in Tanzania.

HARVARD UNIVERSITY BUSINESS SCHOOL
Bradford was asked to organize the first ever panel focused on tourism for the Harvard University Business School's Africa Club Annual conference on Business in Africa which attracts 900 business leaders, alumni and students from all over the US and abroad.

Result: Bradford representative and its Tanzania client were speakers on the first (2004) and subsequent tourism panels.

ZANZIBAR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (ZIFF)
Bradford Group President Karen Hoffman was appointed Special Advisor to the ZIFF Board of Directors to help establish relations with other film festivals in the US and other countries, and to advise on promotion and other programs for this annual film and cultural event, the largest in East Africa.

Result: Initiated relationships for ZIFF with several festivals in the US including the well known Pan African Film Festival and the Museum for African Art in New York City.
